Feed a million in Ramadhan...x

All Praise is for Allah alone, without His Mercy and Guidance this would not be possible.

As we all know, Ramadhan is only a few weeks away Subhan'Allah. Are we preparing ourselves, are we striving to please our creator and to show gratitude to Him.

This year I have decided to set up a page with Just Giving in aid of Ummah Welfare Trust. One of their latest projects is 'Feed a Million this Ramadhan'. What better way to purify our wealth than to feed a fasting person. Please note that I am doing this independent of Ummah Welfare Trust, purely for Allah's sake as they guarantee 100% donation policy.
By donating via my just giving page you can be assured that the money will go straight to them and also should you be a tax payer they can claim gift aid on top.

Iftaar packs will be distributed to families in Albania, Pakistan, Burma, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Gambia, Gaza, Jordan (to Iraqi, Palestinian and Syrian refugees), Haiti, India, Niger, Somalia, Syria, Iraq, Malawi and the Philippines.

Some of us spend so much money and time concentrating on which nice foods to buy, what yummy cakes we can eat after iftaar, these people may not even have a date to break their fast, let alone go to the supermarket and choose.
One iftar pack will cost £50 and will feed a family for the entire month. All I am asking, is that you give whatever is within your means, no matter how small, Allah will look at your intention, not the amount.
There is also a choice to put your donation as anonymous so no one need know how much or little that you give

Some simple ways to save and donate is to think before you buy certain foods. Will the food be a moment of pleasure for yourself, eaten then forgotten or will the food you provide for a family benefit you in this life and, even more so in the next.

Providing for those who are breaking the fast
Zaid ibn Khalid Juhni related that the Prophet said: He who provides for the breaking of the Siyam of another person earns the same merit as the one who was observing Siyam diminishing in any way the reward of the latter (Tirmidhi).

Please visit my page at    http://www.justgiving.com/Al-Huriyah2 to donate

Abu Huraira related that the Prophet said: Allah the Majestic and Exalted said: "Every deed of man will receive ten to 700 times reward, except Siyam (fasting), for it is for Me and I shall reward it (as I like). There are two occasions of joy for one who fasts: one when he breaks the fast and the other when he will meet his Lord" (Muslim).

2:185

The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful. 2:185

Jazak'Allahu khairan for taking time to read my blog, please help those who are unable to help themselves, who knows but Allah that, that stomach which you help to nourish with water, dates and food may be your salvation from a fire hotter than any heat we could ever imagine.

I have pledged to lose weight to support my just giving page so please remember me in your sincere duas as I need to honour that pledge

Some beautiful naseeha on how to spend your ramadhan

May Allah accept the little that we do for His sake, and may this be a purification for us, a way to Jannah firdous and may Allah bless our ramadhan with much forgiveness and reward

And to finish with my favourite video     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MawV61av7DM

Any good is from Allah The Most High and any mistakes are from myself.

Chicken and Chips or Sponsor an Orphan...x

Update 23 June 2012.

All Praise is for Allah, whom has made this possible.

Alhamdulillah we are now sponsoring an Orphan from Sudan.
We have paid for a years sponsorship and I ask Allah to accept it from all of us and that it be a means for us all to reunite in Jannah Firdous.
Subhan'Allah it's such a small thing for us to do but with huge reward bi'ihdnIllah. I will post a bit of info when I receive the details but it won't be any pics or name, just the basic info for us to read.

Please join us and do this again fi sabilIllah. We could all easily donate  £5 until we reach £300 again, and continue this on a regular basis. It's the least we can do for our future Ummah and £5 covers you for a whole year of sponsorship.
It's easy to spend our income on wasteful  things, why not purify your wealth  and help us support all those children who are facing such hardships and poverty.

What more could we want......

Update 10.50pm.

Alhamdulillah we have now exceeded our request of £300 to pay for a year sponsorship for an Orphan. Subhan'Allah, Allah is truly The Most Merciful. Without His permission this would not have been possible.
Any donations over the £300 needed will go towards another Orphan in Morocco. We will be sponsoring an Orphan  Insha'Allah but will pay on a monthly basis, so anyone else wanting to donate then this is what it will be used for.
Jazaki'Allahu Khairan to you all. May Allah accept it from all of us. Ameen...

Assalaamu alaykum,

All Praise is for Allah The Most High, The Most Merciful.

With the way food prices are going up, chicken and chips will soon be costing us £5. £5 for something that will last 5 minutes, eaten and forgotten. With that £5 you could join me and sponsor an Orphan  for a whole year. I am looking for either 60 sisters to donate just £5 once a year or 30 sisters to give £10 once a year.

How can we, as an Ummah keep sitting back, watching shocking videos/news of the atrocities and how much the children are starving and suffering, yet choose to do nothing.

Yes we feel for them, feel guilty for a short while, then forget. Forget that there are so many children all over the world who have no home, no family and certainly do not have chicken and chips everyday. Their shrinking stomachs could not handle chicken and chips as some have not eaten real food for so long
.
Together, we could help save the life of at least one orphan, one Orphan who, when we face Allah on a day when every penny we have wasted will be shown, this orphan sponsorship could be just the Sadaqa we need to tip our scales to the right.

We have done this before and I am sure bi ihdnIllah we can easily do it again. Ramadhan is just around the corner, what better time to start now, to achieve this in time for this blessed month. we can start donating now and be ready to make a one off donation of just £5/£10 to pay for a whole year of sponsorship before Ramadhan starts. This will secure an income for a child for the next year Insha'Allah.

I know some of you may think that you could easily visit a website and donate yourselves but, that will cost you £25 a month alone or £300 a year. By us doing this as a group, all it will cost you is £5 for a whole year, yet all the time getting the reward of sponsoring for a whole year.

Ummah Welfare Trust guarantee 100% donation policy so we will pay them a one off payment of £300 and they will provide us with all the details of the child, their current situation and all the necessary information.
I alone know that I cannot afford £25 a month so this is a beautiful opportunity for us all to not only help a family struggling but also knowing that we are doing something that will please Allah and He will reward us accordingly for our intention to help for His sake.

"I and the caretaker of the orphan will enter Paradise together like this, raising (by way of illustration) his forefinger and middle finger jointly, leaving no space in between." [Saheeh al-Bukhaari]

Why, for the sake of a mere £5 a year would we not want to take advantage of this golden opportunity to do something so blessed in islam.

How can we, look at these pictures and not have the passion to want to give them a hug, a decent meal and  love Subhan'Allah. These are NOT the pictures of the real orphan that we intend to sponsor but, as you can see from the picture below, they are real children, with real poverty yet all the while smiling Masha'Allah. A lot of children now days with their Playstation, ipod and computers would not have a sincere smile like this at all, except maybe when we go and buy them a new game for £50. Once played, to be thrown on the floor and complain that they do not have anything....

These children sift through someone else's rubbish to find plastic and metal to sell for a few pennies which will then maybe buy them something to eat.

please, please, before you go and waste that £5 on unrewarding food or duniya items, think, will this give me any benefit in the next life? If not then please click on donate now and give fi sabil Illah. Give, before a time comes when it will be too late. Too late to turn back time.

This short video has some very inspiring true stories of how some, choose to help others all the time and how passionate they are about doing it. Masha'Allah there is a gem inside about how the Brother gave fi sabil Illah and the outcome of his kindness.

2:215
Sahih International
They ask you, [O Muhammad], what they should spend. Say, "Whatever you spend of good is [to be] for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveler. And whatever you do of good - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it."

This enjoyment is only temporary and has no real benefit in the next life
whereas, sponsoring an orphan has the benefits in this life and the next
Even if you are unable to give £5, give what is within your means for Allah's sake, to please Him alone. He is the only one who can accept the little that we do.

Any good has come from Allah The Most Great, any mistakes are from myself...

Fi aman Illah.

Sadaqa distribution for May Alhamdulillah...x

All Praise is for Allah The Most High, alone. Without His permission this would not be possible.

Masha'Allah, Tabarak'Allah we have had such an amazing month again Subhan'Allah.

As always our first priorities are our two Orphans in Gaza, below is a thank you from one of them and the other should follow very soon Insha'Allah.

The two families in Morocco have also received there monthly donation. Both of the sisters are ill but, one is having tests at the moment so now has enough to pay for each test and bi ihdnIllah her treatment.

And we have committed to help a child in India with a severe blood disorder, so we donate each month to help in their need.

Here in the UK I have a very dear sister/friend who is being tested greatly and has no support from family as she is a revert. She has been having counselling with a professional sister for a while but unfortunately the funds for her sessions has now finished. We will be paying for some extra sessions  bi ihdnIllah to give her the chance to get back on her feet and be able to face life with a more positive attitude. Below is a message from the sister so you can see her progress and how much she is benefiting from the sessions...

When I first started counseling I was in a very difficult situation. For all my life I've had to put up with different kinds of abuses not just from ex husbands but also from my family, my very own mum and dad.
I think it all was too much when I divorced for the second time. All the pains I tried to mask for years came back right up in my face.
I was skeptical to go for counseling at first. My friends suggested I go since several months. Finally I made the decision to attend.
It was October/November last year. By December I started my counselling.
At first it was very painful to talk about anything and I was also shy, reserved and didn't want to say too much to the counselor. Then I slowly made the conscious decision that I was there to benefit and I needed to say everything even those things you don't want no one to know.
Week by week, session by session, my self-confidence built up. I look at my situation in a broader way now. I can see the big picture. I know why I behave the way I do. I know why I build up strong defense against anyone. I need to build on my self-esteem too. I can say that I'm achieving that too. I love myself more and I see things in a more positive and relaxed attitude.
Counseling has helped me a great deal! That's no doubt about that. Many years of suffering are slowly going into boxes. I will open those boxes when and if I will need to. Otherwise they are there, somewhere, closed and I know I am dealing with each one of them individually through counseling.

Alhamdulillah the sister seems well on the way to becoming stronger and more confident and we would like to just allow her to finish the course so that she is happy and contented. As some of you may know, being a revert is such a blessing but, it can also come with lots of baggage from your past life which is an even bigger test especially when your own family do not support you. That's why, being a revert myself and knowing how many up's and downs we can have to face day to day, it's refreshing to know that if you do not have family support, there is some help available.

That's one of the reasons I am so passionate about Solace for revert sisters in difficulty.
Masha'Allah they do so much to help revert sisters to become stronger, more confident and happy in their new life.
We donate to various causes, sometimes to send a sister on a two day Sabeel Seminar but this month we bought a revert in difficulty pack. You can see exactly what it is here   http://solaceuk.org/index.php/sponsorship-options

Please visit the site and give whatever your able fi sabil Illah, I am a witness to how much good they do for others and the impact it can have on a sisters life who is going through so much hardship and has no where to turn Subhan'Allah.

Alhamdulillah we have managed to send our first payment to Morocco ahead of Ramadhan.
As you will read on my other post, we will be supply eight poor families with a Ramadhan food pack consisting of necessary dried food and dates etc.
These packs will cost approximately £50 each so anyone wanting to donate for one pack or whatever is within your means then please do asap.

As we all know the atrocities in Syria and around the world are still continuing.
We were fortunate enough to have enough to supply a family with the following via Ummah Welfare Trust. They guarantee 100% donation policy.

http://uwt.org/site/appeal.asp?id=693

Ummah Welfare Trust urges its donors to give generously for our brothers and sisters in the blessed land of Sham. As Muslims, the current situation obligates us to respond.

£100 can provide a family with an emergency food pack that will last for many weeks inshaAllah.

One pack will contain:
• 10 kg Sugar
• 10 kg Rice
• 2.5 kg Red Lentils (Washed)
• 2.5 kg Red Lentils (Whole)
• 2.5 kg White Grams
• 2 kg Dry Milk
• Box of 100 Tea Bags
• 2.0 kg High Energy Biscuits
• 2.0 kg Salt
• 12 bars of Bath Soap
• 12 cakes of Washing Soap
• 2 kg Washing Powder
• 60 bags of Nappies
• 16 packs of Sanitary Towels

Please open your hearts and remember our brothers and sisters in these sad times – surely our wealth can never decrease when used in the aid of the Ummah.

We are also supporting a married sister in Gaza who has two children and is being tested with cancer. We ask Allah to cure her and that our contribution give her some comfort in knowing there are sisters all over the world who are prepared to help when the need arises. As some of you know, we are giving them a monthly income and on occasions will try and help in some way for her treatment as she has to travel to Jordan for this.

A very small part of your sadaqa went to http://www.justgiving.com//Dawah2012Flyer5
They are collecting donations to print flyers for dawah purposes which as we all know is an important and beneficial part of our lives and should (with Allah's permission) be a sadaqa jariyah for us all.

And lastly but not least we have given a large part of the sadaqa to a Palestinian sister.
She is divorced with 3 children. Because of her very difficult situation she borrowed 1000 dinars to start a project and earn enough money to support her family instead of begging or resorting to haram means ( as some have done) but unfortunately this money was stolen, leaving her in a dire situation with no way to pay it back. She also has many, many other personal problems which is making life even harder.
Please be assured that this sister is known to my trusted friend and we know the urgency of her need.
Part of the donation will be used for other families to buy food in Gaza Insha'Allah.

"He who relieves a hardship of this Dunya (this earthly life)
for a believer, Allah will relieve a hardship of the Day of
Resurrection for him; he who makes it easy for an indebted
person, Allah will make it easy for him in the Dunya and
the Hereafter; he who covers a Muslim (his mistakes and
shortcomings), Allah will cover him in the Dunya and
the Hereafter; Allah will be in the slave 's need, as long as
the slave is in his (believing) brother's need…"

[Saheeh Muslim]

Alhamdulillah we are so blessed to have what we have. A roof over our heads, food in the fridge, our health and our wealth. Thank Allah every second of everyday for being guided first and foremost, as without guidance then we are truly lost.

As Muslims, the phrase “alhamdulillah” اَلحَمْدُ لِله is an integral part of our deen; we are taught to say it from both the Qur’an and Sunnah and most of us have this phrase in our everyday vocabulary, not to mention we read it every day in Suratul Faatihah. ‘Alhamdulillah’ is an amazingly deep word, which would take pages upon pages to explain properly in English

Allah has truly blessed us with the opportunity to do the little that we do for His sake and I am blessed to have so many dear sisters (and some Husbands/Sons)who are passionate about helping others in their time of hardship.
Please do continue with your donations so that the recipients are confident that we will support them continuously throughout the need.

There is a young brother whom has joined us with a generous donation for the people of Gaza. He travels there on a regular basis and will also find us a family to support Insha'Allah so please be aware that any money we donate goes directly to those in need. This brother will oversee the families needs and inform us of their future progress Insha'Allah. The same goes  for Morocco. The reason is, is that we either have family or trusted friends in these areas to ensure that the donations go to those who really need it.

Please click on donate to give whatever amount your able fi sabil Illah.

I leave you all with Allah and this beautiful reminder Subhan'Allah...x

2:177
Sahih International
Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah , the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous. 2:177...x

Please note: All of the above is possible with a simple £1 a week donation from you.
Most of the doners give just £1 a week, that's all, no more, no less. With the permission of Allah alone we can help those who need us at a time when they may have no other support.
