Like for like in Ramadhan

Assalaamu alaykum

All Praise is for Allah alone.

Update 26-06-14

Alhamdulillah we managed another 2 food packs for families in the UK.

Here is a pic of one which the sr bought herself and we paid for (all receipts are seen by myself) and she managed enough to buy gas and electric too as this iis a constant struggle too, sometimes having just a few pence left.

Sahih International
Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate. 43:32

Update 23-06-14

By Allah I just got a call from a sister who received a food pack from us. I have known her and family since our children were in primary school which is about 10+ years. She told me that, before we reached her  she had no food in the house yesterday to feed her and her children Subhan'Allah. Look how Allah provides so much provision that we don't even know Subhan'Allah. We see year in year out many people sending their donations 'back home' as it were and I know there are many many needs around the world as we do these projects abroad too but, we also need to get rid of this misconception that people living in the UK have benefits at least so how can they be struggling. By Allah I know this sister has been for numerous interviews despite having a small baby and has been put under extreme pressure to look for work and I also know the debts that she has amounted since Subhan'Allah. My reason for this post is to make people aware that our neighbours have rights over us too, She has never once came to me and said I have no food please help, so please keep a check on families beside you, esp the single Mums who live on peanuts. I will post her message to you all when I can Insha'Allah.

Update 22-06-14

Alhamdulillah we just finished delivering the food packs for ramadhan.
Subhan'Allah one family donated the entire food collection, another sister the dates and a third sister donated many toiletries.

Alhamdulillah we also have enough for our families in Morocco too. We will buy some meat for them also bi ihdnIllah,

Update 19-06-14

Alhamdulillah more donations

Jazakum'Allahu Khairan to the family who have donated so much food Subhan'Allah

Update 18-06-14

Alhamdulillah we now have enough for all the families in the UK and Morocco Subhan'Allah.

Below are a couple of pics of the food so far, we will add meat, chicken and dates too bi Ihdnillah

Update 12-06-14

Alhamdulillah so far we have raised enough for our UK families but have a shortfall of £120 for those in Morocco. Please help if you are able.

10-06-14
Subhan'Allah in the recent months we have become aware of families in the UK who have been facing hardship with debts and basic living needs, as well as many families in Morocco without enough food.

Like for like is our next project to help feed families with the same foods that we eat ourselves so that they too may receive the nutrition needed throughout this truly blessed month.

How much do you spend on food during this blessed month, how much do you then throw away too Subhan'Allah.

We are doing just 4 food packs in the UK for 4 different families that we know personally and will also be collecting  donations for a few families in Morocco bi ihdnillah.

Remember these families from previous ramadhan and/or food pack projects

Alhamdulillah the little that we do can bring so much happiness and relief to these families for such a small effort.

Please join us by donating the price of just one meal of the same value that you will spend on your own family Insha'Allah.

Like for like is for us to give others that we would love for ourselves and our own family. Remember.....

hadith13arabic
On the authority of Abu Hamzah Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) - the servant of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) - that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said :

"None of you will believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself."

UK appeal. A tin a day keeps their hunger at bay.

All Praise is for Allah He is The all Knowing, All hearing.

Update 2-7-14

Alhamdulillah we have completed this project as we combined it with the ramadhan food parcels that were delivered recently.

Jazakum'Allah Khairan to you all

As we all know, and should be preparing for, the beautiful month that is Ramadhan is soon to be upon us. Some of us will be doing extra deeds, some will even be preparing their menu in advance but, are you aware that there is a vast number of families in the UK who are also living from day to day, not knowing how they will feed their families, how will they keep them warm in the winter months.

Alhamdulillah that we have a benefit system in place. Most poor countries do not have any such thing but, with the recent benefit caps, homelessness and hardship, many families are having to go to food banks, are being evicted from their homes as they can no longer afford the rent excess.
We know of sisters who are being forced to look for work even though they have babies and children Subhan'Allah and the hardships they are facing.

We have at least four families in our community who we know are facing such hardships and will be preparing them a food pack in time for the start of Ramadhan Insha'Allah.

An example of the contents will be Dates, Porridge, milk, Lentils, Rice, Chick Peas, Tinned Tomatoes and Sugar amongst other items.

To help relieve the hardships of these families you can either make a cash donation of any amount your able from £1 via Paypal to mekkaouis@yahoo.com or, if you are local to us in London SE we implore you to buy a tin a day or a bag of rice a day and keep aside in time for Ramadhan. We will then distribute it to the said families Bi IhdnIllah.

By Allah we are very aware that there are so many poor, hungry families around the world who will be facing the same hardships day after day, year after year and we ask you to continue to support all those who need it but, we also ask you to remember that our neighbours and those in our community have a right over us too.
We must strive to meet their basic needs as much as we are able. Even if you do not donate to us with food or money, ask around your local community and you will be surprised just how many single parents, families are goign without the basic necessities. Maybe they need nappies, gas, electric etc. Let us not always assume that because we are in the UK we are ok.

Jazakum'Allahu Khairan for your continued support. May Allah relieve the hardship of all those who are suffering. Not just in Ramadhan but all year round.

Remember, there are about 68 days left before Ramadhan so plenty of time to stock up

Fi amanIllah

"He who relieves a hardship of this Dunya (this earthly life)
for a believer, Allah will relieve a hardship of the Day of
Resurrection for him; he who makes it easy for an indebted
person, Allah will make it easy for him in the Dunya and
the Hereafter; he who covers a Muslim (his mistakes and
shortcomings), Allah will cover him in the Dunya and
the Hereafter; Allah will be in the slave 's need, as long as
the slave is in his (believing) brother's need…"

Beautiful reminders Subhan'Allah

All Praise is for Allah.

I came across these short reminders and wanted to share them with you all.

Jazakum'Allahu Khairan to you all for your continued support to help those in need.
May it weight heavy on our scales and be a means to reunite in Jannah Firdous among the pious. Ameen.

Water Well in Pakistan

All Praise is for Allah alone.

Alhamdulillah back in Aug 2012 we opened a Just Giving page to build a water well in Pakistan.

This page is no longer taking donations

Although it took longer than usual, here it is Subhan'Allah.
May Allah accept it from all involved from giving/sharing, ordering and building. Ameen

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us that every man will be shaded by his charity on the Day of Resurrection, the day on which the sun will be brought close to people’s heads until Allaah passes judgement between them. Narrated by Ahmad, 16882; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 4510.
So hasten to give charity and strive to make your charity ongoing, so that you may benefit from it after death. We ask Allaah to help us to do that which He loves and which pleases Him.

Jazakum'Allahu Khairan for your continued support. May it be a means of purification and a means to reunite in Jannah Firdous. Ameen

Sadaqa distribution for February Alhamdulillah

All praise is for Allah alone.

Alhamdulillah we have another productive month.

As per usual we are sponsoring our 5 orphans from Morocco, Sudan, Palestine and Syria,
our 4 families in Morocco, a widower in Palestine, a widow in Gambia, and a child in India with thalassemia. These are our monthly commitments, any sadaqa after this is distributed in the best way possible bi ihdnIllah.

Allah humma Barik we are now sponsoring another dear Palestinian Orphan.
We collected enough to pay for a years sponsorship

Sahih International
A spring of which the [righteous] servants of Allah will drink; they will make it gush forth in force [and abundance].

They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread.

And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,

[Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah . We wish not from you reward or gratitude. 76:6-9

Alhamdulillah we also paid for another Tube Well via Muslim Hands. It should be built in around 9 months time Insha'Allah. This is being built on behalf of a sister who recently returned to Allah. May Allah make it a means for her to enter Jannah Firdous and also for all those who gave their donations. Ameen.

An olive and fruit tree was purchased too on behalf of all those who give their sadaqa to us each month.

A box of nappies was bought for a sister in need.

We had a huge donation of £1000 for Syria which we paid onto our Just Giving page for Al Muntada. They have built a refugee village for Syrian families who have been displaced.

We will be shipping a box or two to Gambia next week Insha'Allah and we have collected seeds, books, medicine and clothes so far to send to sr Amina from Markoiro Bunda Gambia.
She will distribute them accordingly.

Allah humma barik lahu this is beautiful Fanta whom we will be sponsoring her education for the next year bi ihdnIllah

Two more wheelchairs will be sent to Morocco for two brothers. One is elderly and sick and the other was hit by a tram.

As you can see, your £1 donation can help to make ease for so many people. From food to medical aids. Never underestimate the little that we give fi sabil Illah.

by Dr. `Umar Al-Ashqar

One of the greatest things that will relieve a person's distress on the Day of Resurrection is his efforts in this world to relieve the distress of those who are in distress, and to help those who are in need, and to make things easy for those who are in difficulty, and to overlook the mistakes of those who err. In Muslim it is narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"Whoever relieves a believer of distress in this world, Allah will relieve him of some of the distress of the Day of Resurrection. Whoever makes things easy for those who are in difficulty, Allah will make things easy for him in this world and in the next. Whoever conceals (the faults of) a Muslim in this world, Allah will conceal him (his faults) in this world and in the Hereafter. Allah will help the slave so long as the slave helps his brother." [Mishkaat al-Masaabeeh, 1/71, hadith no. 204.]

May Allah accept our efforts purely for His sake alone. May He continue to put His barakah into this project and may it be a means for us to reunite in Jannah Firdous amongst the righteous. Ameen

Al-Muntada Syria Refugee Village

All Praise is for Allah The most Merciful

In support of

And

Al Khair Foundation

We have opened a new Just Giving page to raise £2500 for the newly opened Refugee Village.

Please donate direct to this page so they may receive your donation direct Insha'Allah. If this is a problem for you then you can donate to my Paypal and I will put it on your behalf.

You can see the project on the follwing link

The ongoing crisis in Syria has forced many people to leave their homes terrified and desperate for safe refuge from the violence. Along with any remaining family members they have fled to refugee camps along the Syria-Turkey border. The most affected amongst them are orphans and widows. Countless children suffer from the psychological trauma of seeing family members killed, of being separated from their parents and being terrified by the constant thunder of shelling.
After multiple visits to the Syrian refugee camps, Al Muntada Trust & Al Khair Foundation, have witnessed the appalling unsanitary conditions, unsafe drinking water and lack of facilities in the camps. The terrible conditions are leading to risk of water-borne diseases including acute respiratory infections, leishmania and skin diseases such as scabies. In addition to this, there are fears of security and privacy for the people, particularly the women and children, leaving them vulnerable and exposed.

The solution: The Syria Refugee Village
Al Muntada Trust in partnership with Al Khair Foundation plan to build a village which will have 100 demountable rooms as small center and will include a school, a masjid, a kitchen from where food will be served to people and a playground for the children.
Each container will provide shelter for an average of 5 members and will contain mattresses, blankets, pillows, mat, bin, water thermos, table fan, mini refrigerator, portable wardrobe.
A communal kitchen will be built that will daily serve cooked food to orphans, their mothers and needy families. We also plan to erect a tent for a school to be used as classroom where children will get education and a masjid where worshippers are able to offer their prayers.

Please do give and share if your able.

Never underestimate the little that you give

Sadaqa distribution for January 2014

All Praise is for Allah alone.

Assalaamu alaykum,

Alhamdulillah this month has been very productive.
As well as funding our monthly commitments we were also able to give a small amount to buy baby milk for Syria, we paid for a 200+ pupil and community school feed in The Gambia via Markoiro Bunda Gambia.
This is Aminas FB page so you can see the amazing work she has been blessed with Masha'Allah.

We collected enough to buy a single mum we know a new washing machine as she didn't have one, isn't working and couldn't afford to buy one, a  double bed was also donated for her to use as she needed this too and we also topped up her gas and electric cards too.

Alhamdulillah it arrived today 19.02.14

You donated £140 for our young sr in Morocco who is severely disabled. This was for them to buy nappies for her and to meet her basic needs, plus a sr donated 12 packs of nappies free of charge Subhan'Allah.

A small amount was given towards the payment owed for treatment for a Hafiz teacher of a friend of ours.

A sr I know has set up a small school also in The Gambia so we donated some for the resources that they so urgently need.

And to add, sadaqa is not just about giving out our money, there are so many other ways to give sadaqa. One of them is giving your time. Masha'Allah, the reason I say this is because the sr needing the bed, washing machine etc had to move from her flat to another and, being a single parent with no one to help had no way of having her belongings taken to her new home.
Subhan'Allah after us asking on Whatsapp a very dear sr I know had arranged for her husb and 3 other brothers to drive from West London to South East and they lifted and carried all her furniture, bags etc and took them to her new home free of charge. When she first called me she was in tears because there was no one to hellp Subhan'Allah, now, she is so happy that they came to aid her in her time of need. May Allah reward the sr and her husband and the three other brothers who came too. Ameen.

Lastly but not least. Please make dua for guidance and shifaat for my sr. She is not yet a Muslim and has recently been diagnosed with ovarian cancer Subhan'Allah.

They will start a course of chemotherapy next week Insha'Allah.
As sad as it is, it's not the cancer that is the most worrying, it's the fact of anyone (especially a family member) who will one day return to Allah as a disbeliever. May Allah guide and cure her, and all my family and all those who are not yet given this blessing that is Islam. Ameen

For those of you who are new to this blog/project our monthly commitments that we support first and foremost with your £1 a week donation are as follows.

5 orphans from Gaza, Morocco, Syria and Sudan
5 families in Morocco needing monthly medication etc, A widow in The Gambia with two children, a widower in Palestine, a child in India with thalassamia amongst other smaller projects too Alhamdulillah. Please continue to support our efforts by either donating and/or sharing this blog, and please like and share our FB page too.

And our Just Giving page for Syria

Beautiful advice Subhan'Allah.

“All of us are commanded to be a brother for our brothers in faith, truthful in our brotherhood and love, and this brotherhood produces many good, and from its greatest and most sublime and most noble in the sight of Allah is when you complete the deficiency of your brother and when you assist your brother upon the obedience of Allah and the Pleasure of Allah, all of us by Allah, even if he was a Scholar he is in need of someone to support him, to help him, to be close by him and remind him of Allah if he forgets, and aid him in the remembrance of Allah if he became heedless, we are all in need of this.” Sh.
